The Tzeachten Housing Department plans, administers, reviews and executes various housing programs available to membership. Some of our services include but are not limited to the following:

Band-Owned Rentals:

Tzeachten owns and operates 7 townhouse units, a tri-plex unit and we hope to break ground in spring of 2020 for our future housing development!

The Property and Public Works department is happy to share and implement our new housing application! Please fill out an application to be consider for any current rental units that become available, and to also be put on a wait list for our future housing development.

CMHC (Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation):

CMHC is a non-profit housing program that is enabled by the government of Canada. Funding for various housing projects are recognized through CMHC and meant for members who own their home on reserve. Some of the following programs are available:

Homeowner Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program (RRAP On-Reserve)

RRAP On-Reserve offers financial assistance to First Nations and First Nation members to repair substandard homes to a minimum level of health and safety. For the RRAP information link click here.

Home Adaptations for Seniors’ Independence (HASI) Program On-Reserve

HASI On-Reserve helps First Nations and First Nation members pay for minor home adaptations to on-reserve properties to extend the time seniors can live in their own homes independently. For the HASI fact sheet link click here & HASI link click here.

Indigenous Services Canada:

Providing and managing housing on-reserve is the responsibility of First Nations. The Government of Canada provides funding to First Nations for safe and affordable on-reserve housing.

Housing Subsidy Program

Indigenous Services Canada  (ISC) & Housing Subsidy Program in British Columbia  provides housing subsidies to assist First Nations with the construction and purchase of new housing, and for renovations that address structural and health and safety concerns.
