Help Name the 50 Acre Site
We’re inviting ideas for a future name for the 50 acre site or neighbourhood. You may find the following two guiding questions helpful to guide your entry
- Our culture is rich with language and tradition, are there any reference points that come to mind?
- a Halq'eméylem word or phrase
- an english word that can be translated into Halq'eméylem
- a traditional or historic reference
- a natural feature, animals, a concept connected to community, etc.
- What does this place represent to you?
- For example, home, return, growth, opportunity, gathering, future generations
These ideas will be brought to our Elders and language advisors to review and define a new name / identity for the site. All entries will be placed into a draw for an e-scooter / e-bike with safety gear.
